Evaluate your new therapies with the most relevant Cancer Animal Models
Cancer Animal Models support investigators in the development, characterization and analysis of new therapies against cancer. Oncodesign Services, a CRO specialized in Drug Discovery, offers a range of discovery and preclinical services built on Cancer Animal Models of syngeneic, cell-derived xenograft (CDX) and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) tumors.
Exploring the role of animal models in cancer research
Cancer Animal Models play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of cancer biology and in the development of novel therapeutic interventions to combat this disease. These models allow researchers to study the development and progression of cancer in a living system, and to understand the mechanisms of action of novel therapies.
As predictors of human responses, animal models can provide indications of how a particular treatment might act in humans, offering valuable predictive information about efficacy and side effects.

Oncodesign Services provides a large bank of Cancer Animal Models
Since the inception of the company in 1995, Oncodesign Services has been a pioneer in the field of translational pharmacology and cancer. Our capabilities respond to growing needs for proof of concept investigations, innovative therapeutic approaches and drugs in oncology and immune-oncology.
We provide more than 500 animal models covering 35 cancer pathologies and applications, such as:
- Syngeneic, xenogeneic, transgenic, chemo-induced animal models
- Ectopic, orthotopic and metastatic tumor growth
- Characterized tumor growth kinetics, histology, genetics
- Standard-of-care response
- Development of new specific animal models upon request
Our In vivo assay department offers 1300 m2 of facilities dedicated to animal research, including:
- Genomics: qPCR, SNP, Transcriptome, NGS…
- Multimodal Imaging: MRI, CT, PET, SPEC, Optical, PET/MRI…
- Protein expression: IHC, Cytometry, Luminex, ELISA…

Animal well-being, our top priority
All our sites maintain the full AAALAC International accreditation of our animal care and use program. AAALAC International is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs.
Oncodesign Services is guided by the Three Rs (3Rs) principles for more ethical use of animals in testing:
- Replacement, the preferred use of alternative methods over animal methods whenever it is possible to achieve the same scientific aims. Oncodesign Services dedicates resources to develop alternatives and more predictable models. These methods include for example computer modeling and organoids.
- Reduction, methods that enable researchers to obtain comparable levels of information from fewer animals, or to obtain more information from the same number of animals.
- Refinement, methods that alleviate or minimize potential pain, suffering or distress, and enhance animal welfare. These methods include non-invasive techniques such as imagery techniques.
